What was announced or recorded
Stary's own company page names four operating brands: Dreame, “the flagship reading platform for romance fiction and other genres”; Stary Writing, a platform for creators; WeHear FM, an audiobook service; and Dreame Short, described as a platform for short-drama adaptations. Dreame.com presents itself under the line “Great Story Starts Here,” offering fantasy, paranormal romance and young-adult fiction to readers, with a linked writer programme run under the Stary Writing brand.
What the documents establish
Stary's page states Dreame serves “more than 100 million users in over 200 countries and regions” and has ranked first in app stores in North America and Southeast Asia, with localisation into English, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Filipino, Bahasa Indonesian and Vietnamese. The Dreame app's own App Store listing, published by Stary Pte. Ltd. and current as retrieved on 16 September 2026, repeats the 100-million-reader figure, adds “500,000+ novels across all genres,” and lists genre tags including werewolf romance, billionaire romance and alpha-male romance sold through a coins currency, with in-app purchase tiers from $2.99 to $24.99. None of these three pages states a founding date for Stary or Dreame, and none discloses how many titles Dreame Short has actually adapted.
Announced versus delivered
What is recorded is a naming structure: a reading app, a writing tool, an audio arm and a short-drama arm under one group, plus scale claims stated by the company itself rather than an independently audited figure. What is not established is delivery — Dreame Short is named as a product line, not documented here with a title count, a release date, or a distribution platform. The reader figures and store rankings are the company's own claims, attributed as such; they are not verified against a named measurement firm or a filed disclosure, and should be read as marketing self-description rather than an audited metric.
What to watch
Editorially, the test is whether Stary ever publishes a title-level list for Dreame Short comparable to the genre and pricing detail it already publishes for the Dreame reading app. A named adaptation brand with no visible catalogue is a plan stated in a company's own words, not yet a delivered slate.
- Has Stary published any list of titles actually adapted from Dreame novels into Dreame Short episodes?
- Do the 100-million-reader and top-chart claims appear in any source besides the company's own site and store listing?
- How does Dreame's coins pricing compare with the unlock pricing used by dedicated vertical drama apps?
Stary's own pages describe a full pipeline, from free serialised romance to a paid coin economy to a named short-drama brand. What they do not yet show, in the company's own words, is a finished adaptation to point to.
